Lands

The lands are located on the hills with orientations that go from east to south and west. Those located in the La Crosa area are oriented towards the Ligurian Riviera, while those of San Giovanni look at the Gavi hills, the lands of Riomaggiore are oriented towards that part of Monferrato bordering the Langhe.

The diversity of the soils allows the same vines to produce grapes with different characteristics.

The texture of the soils located in La Crosa is slightly finer than that of the soils of San Giovanni and Riomaggiore.

Almost all the soils are clayey in base, therefore ideal for red grapes; in the San Giovanni estate they are clayey with a calcareous marl tendency. A considerable part of them is pebbly and permeable, therefore suitable for the production of excellent quality wines.
